The popular village of Kildwick is located at the head of the Aire Valley Trunk Road with the busy village of Crosshills just 1km to the south offering a useful range of services and amenities. The railway stations of Cononley and Steeton and Silsden lie about 1.7km to the west and 3.2km to the east respectively providing regular direct services to Bradford, Leeds and Skipton.
The site comprises a parcel of Greenfield land extending in total to about 0.41 acres (1.01 acres) with frontage to Skipton Road from where the new access will be created. The site is bordered to the south and west by mature trees and to the east by private residential dwellings.
A sympathetic development scheme was prepared by Carleton based architect, John Wharton providing a terrace of seven dwellings that reflect the local vernicular. Craven District Council granted approval for the scheme under decision number 2019/20416/FUL. Dated 01 August 2019.
The site will be accessed via a new entrance to be constructed from Skipton Road which has been approved under the above planning permission.
