Since the granting of planning permission for the extension of the cottage, a significant programme of renovation and building works has commenced centred around the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the original cottage in readiness for the addition of the extensions.

Works undertaken to date briefly comprise:
removal of entire internal fabric of the original cottage; rebuild gable wall incorporating new steels, chimney stack and two way fireplace; replacement of all stone window surrounds, complete overhaul of roof including incorporation of oak beams, membrane and re-roofing the front elevation (rear elevation has been left to tie in with new extension roof); laying of sub floor to internal ground floor; boarding and render to internal walls; installation of new timber joists and first floor; creation of new back door opening; soil pipe re-routed around proposed extension; foundations laid for approved extensions; construction of retaining wall to garden incorporating electric cables.

The approved plans provide accommodation on two floors which will briefly comprise a living room, lobby with stairs to the first floor, utility room with separate wet room and an open plan kitchen/dining area and sun room. The first floor has a central landing, master bedroom with en suite, house bathroom and two further bedrooms with built in wardrobes.

The approximate gross internal floor layout of the accommodation based on the approved scheme is 120 sq metres (1291 sq feet)
